Nordic Mountain Resort Review
Nordic Mountain Ski Resort located in Wild Rose, Wisconsin opens towards the end of October - if all goes to plan. Nordic Mountain uses the quote 'Fun Rules' to describe itself, due to the additional summer activities that go on. The snow is what it is most known for and there is definitely fun to be had on the Mountain that for the most part is surrounded by flat ground for miles on end. Prices start at 24$ for one adult lift pass and 249$ for a season pass which is great value at any Resort.
TRAIL INFO
Nordic Mountain Ski Resort has its base at 872 feet, looking 265 feet up to the summit height, 1137 feet. While the vertical drop of 265 feet is on the lower end, there is still 80 acres of skiable terrain. The longest run is one mile long, and with a total of 12 runs there is a good mix of trails from beginner to expert level, the Mountain certainly makes the most of its space.
SKI LESSONS AND SCHOOLS
Early in 2014 Nordic Mountain Ski Resort is launching a new Ski School Programme. There is a month long course available for both adults and children that meet once per week. The goal of these courses is to develop snow skills with the social aspect a bonus as a richer experience is had sharing with others.
Lessons are available both privately and in small groups with people of all ages welcome. Starting at 45$ for 90 minute for a private lesson, the value is great with packages available to include rentals and lift passes too.
ACCOMMODATION
There is no accommodation at the resort itself on Nordic Mountain, but choosing to stay nearby is easily accessible. 6 miles away in Wild Rose, Blader's Inn and Peaceful Pines Cozy Cabins are great choices, while just a bit further away in Wautoma, Boarders and Moose Inn Supper Club and Catering welcome skiers with open arms.
